Setting retirement goals

5 January 2018

It’s a New Year, with that comes many goals we set to achieve throughout the year. We think this is a perfect time to set or evaluate your retirement goals. Whether you are 30 or retiring this year, it doesn’t matter what stage of life you are in, it is important to set retirement goals to ensure you retire comfortably and happy.

To start the year off, separate your goals into short, medium and long term achievable targets; from meeting with your financial advisor, starting a retirement savings account, to looking at moving into a retirement estate. If you are not too sure where to start in setting retirement goals, start by finding a hobby you would like to get involved in. When retiring you need to find interesting things to do to help pass the time, and make your retirement more enjoyable. Another goal to consider is determining where you would like to retire to and finding out as much about a location as you can.

Retirement is something to always keep in mind each year. While for some it may be many years away, planning ahead is just as necessary as it would be for those who are reaching their retirement years.picture1
